A basic understanding of programming methodology is required in order to implement the XML VIN decoding service. DataOne Software will provide limited support via email relating only to the connection and transmission integration processes, as well as questions relating to data.

Integration: How to get started

If you have not already signed for your free 15 day trial, click on the link to the left to request an account. You should receive an automated email within minutes which will provide meaningful information related to getting started. This email will include a URL which may be submitted through your IE browser that will let you immediately being submitting VINS to the service and receiving back an XML file response.

Download the code sample to the right which best suits your application, or a code sample which is close enough that you are comfortable porting code to your language of choice. The technical guide is also a good reference for your development efforts. Average development time to be able to send and receive a response is about 2 hours.
